I was born and raised in Detroit Michigan. Being the youngest of four girls, hair care was instilled in me at a very young age. Per my mother, I received my first relaxer at the age of 10 because I was "too tender headed" (I still am lol). After obtaining my high school diploma I continued my education and obtained a degree in nursing. In the summer of 2005, I met Dr. Adebowale Adeleye and fell in love at first sight. By that fall we were married. After relocating to Huntsville Alabama I decided to quit my job at a local hospital and start my very own business. Fall 2008, I opened Simply Elegant Portrait Studio, which is an up-scaled photography studio specializing in children portraiture.
After being away from the big city I began to experience fashion withdrawls; which led me to open my second business, called Round Two. Round Two is a ladies boutique that has the high fashion look at affordable prices.
After moving away from the city I was still searching for change ,so I decided to color my hair for the first time in my life. I would color it and then relax it several weeks later and then color it and relax it several weeks later and so on and so forth. After several months I began to notice my hair texture changing. My hair became brittle and damaged. Despite having a relaxer for most of my life, my hair was always "predominately healthy" (But it would never grow past my shoulder without shedding so much to the point I would always keep it cut right below my chin to make it look more healthy). After my hair became damaged from the color, I decided to lay off the relaxers for a while. As I began to see my new growth after a few months without a relaxer, I was curious to see more of my natural texture. So I decided not to put a relaxer in for a few more months. Finally, I was convinced...I was in love with the natural texture of my hair. It was as if I discovered something new about myself.
At that time I became "OBSESSED" with natural hair. I did my own research and conducted my own experiments; I became my very own guinea pig. After a year of experiments, I finally nailed it! I developed products that actually worked. I gave away products to my family and friends. People wanted to know my secret....they wanted to know what have I been using in my hair to make it grow so fast and yet healthy; and finally I am ready to share my natural hair secrets with you.
Stay Blessed,
~Courtney~
